Pennsylvania Trip Highlights Sun Preseason Schedule
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (February 28, 2011) — The Connecticut Sun will open the 2011 season by hosting the San Antonio Silver Stars in the first of two preseason matchups between the two teams on May 25th at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Two days later, the Sun and the Silver Stars will face off again, this time in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza at 7 p.m. The game will mark the first time the team has played at the facility. It is the third time Connecticut has played a preseason game in a non-WNBA arena and the first since a 2007 game at The Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn.
“We are very excited to be able to play one of our preseason games at a neutral site,” said Sun Vice President and General Manager Chris Sienko. “This also gives WNBA fans in an extended area the opportunity to see a game close to their home and near the Mohegan Sun property in Wilkes-Barre.”
The Connecticut Sun will open its ninth season at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, June 4th by hosting the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. Sun season tickets and Mini Plans for the 2011 season are currently on sale and can be reserved by calling a Sun Ticket Sales Representative at 1.877.SUN.TIXX or by e-mailing the Sun at tickets@connecticutsun.com.
