Checking In With...Kiesha Brown
We’ve caught up another one of our Georgia Peaches: Kiesha Brown. KB had an incredible year with the Sparks starting the first games of her eight year career in 2008. After providing a spark off the bench to begin the season, Brown played her way into the starting line-up mid-way through the season. Right now, Kiesha is in Israel shooting the lights out. In three games with her team Ramat Hasharon, she is averaging 21.7 ppg, 5 apg and 4.7 rebounds/game!
Here’s what’s on Kiesha’s mind this offseason:
Sparks: What are your thoughts on the 2008 season?
KB: Unfinished business, as simple as that.
Sparks: Do you have any big plans that you are looking forward to for the offseason?
KB: Nothing is set in stone yet but I really want to go to the Superbowl and to the NBA All-star game.
Sparks: What do you have a passion for in the community?
KB: I am really interesting in teaching youth about financial literacy. It’s so important that kids understand what they need to know to help plan for their future.
Sparks: How are you supporting your financial literacy platform?
KB: I try to do work with my Kiesha Brown CTC Foundation for Financial Literacy. I even held a basketball camp last year to not only help kids improve their basketball skills but also teach the importance of financial planning and literacy.
