Shock To Host New York

The Tulsa Shock are poised to snap their six-game losing streak against the New York Liberty at the BOK Center on Friday night.

Last Time Out

The Shock fell to the Atlanta Dream 96-90 in Atlanta on Wednesday. The Shock trailed by as many as 18 in the first half before clawing back and taking the lead on numerous occasions in the second half. However, with the game tied 86-86 with a little over two minutes left in the game, the Shock were unable to take the lead on three consecutive offensive possessions allowing Atlanta to finally break the tie on a three-point play by Sancho Lyttle to put the Dream up 89-86 and clinch the game. Four Shock players were scored in double-figures: Scholanda Robinson (17 points), Braxton (15), Amber Holt (14) and Jennifer Lacy (13).

About the Opponent

The New York Liberty are 5-8 this season and coming off a loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday. Cappie Pondexter leads the team in scoring with 20.3 points-per-game.

Homecoming

Friday’s game marks the beginning of a four-game home stand for the Shock where they have won two of their last three.

Welcome Back

Tulsa will welcome back Plenette Pierson to the BOK Center on Friday. Pierson was recently traded to the Liberty from the Shock in exchange for Tiffany Jackson. She is averaging 8.0 points-per-game in two games in a Liberty uniform. In Tulsa she averaged 11.3 points-per-game.

Blockin’ Out Cancer

The Tulsa Shock will be “Blockin’ Out Cancer” tonight! The Warren Clinic Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine will be passing out FREE first aid kits to the first 2,000 fans. Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Foundation will also be at the game helping pass out the iconic yellow Livestrong wristbands to the first 5,000 fans. The Livestrong Foundation will also be hosting a memory wall where fans can write and leave personal notes in honor of loved ones affected by cancer. This game is also the first of our two Kids Get In Free games! All kids 16-years-old and younger will receive a free ticket with the purchase of at least one adult ticket.
